Ok, so what i have is a Gibson Les Paul Standard Doulbe Cutaway. I bought this guitar brand new from guitar center about a year and a half ago, and I want to see how much its worth now but can't find a lot on it because i dont know that much about it.
The guitar is 100% stock and is in AWESOME condition. It has Burstbucker pros in it, and grover tuners.
The serial # is 006470678
I was told that this guitar was a Guitar Center exclusive and is now discontinued.
Other than that I don't really know much about the guitar.
Here are some pics

Looks like a beauty guitar!
I found the following link:

This should give you an idea.

nice, though I have to say Ive never seen that colour nor that control combo on a DC............
I was after a P90 gold top for ages.................
EDIT
I was told that this guitar was a Guitar Center exclusive and is now discontinued
ahaaa that may explain it then.............Ive no idea what its worth.......probably the same as the other DCs..........
apart from the colour/pots does it have any other differences to make it 'special' ??

If it's discontinued then you've got yourself a real rare piece of work, it will only appreciate in value.

Unlikely. Gibson has been putting out "limited editions" and "Guitar Center Exclusives" and "guitars of the week" in such profusion that it's unlikely that any of these will achieve any particular status. They routinely "discontinue" guitars like this.
The Traditional Pro, for example, is a Guitar Center exclusive, and guitar center is selling enough of them that it's unlikely it will ever be considered "rare" or special in any way.
Rarity in and of itself is no measure of potential value.
In this particular case, you should probably figure its value at original cost minus some depreciation amount (usually around 25%).

Garry Moore used to play this guitar live, it sounds amazing. I think it could worth $2000, not sure though!

Figure out the going price for a used Les Paul Standard sunburst, then knock 10-20% off because the double cutaway body style is less popular.

Nope, because his is collectible.
Note that one horn is decidedly longer than the other, not almost equal as on usual doublecuts. This was a Gibson "Guitar of the Week" or "Guitar of the Month" or something like that, and made in limited numbers for a short time. They are pretty rare. I would think they should be worth more than a run-of-the-mill Standard due to the collectible factor.

sorry friend but you're wrong on all counts. Being a llimited run doesnt gurantee collectability Im afraid
DCs arent as sought after as single cut lesters, simple fact Im afraid - also the horns on all but the 'tvs and flat-tops' are slightly asymetrical (this includes the studios, gold tops and the more abundant amber and blue flame tops) - something I spent rather a long and close look at when I was considering my custom build.

This isn't a regular DC. Look at his pics. I know that the regular DC's are slightly asymetrical, I own one. His is not. It is known as a "longhorn" doublecut. These sold for more than Standards.

What's it worth? That depends upon whether there's a buyer for it and what they're willing to pay.
In this market, there's a glut of sellers and a scarcity of buyers.
So, unique can be good, but it can also be bad.
Good in that we know that the prices for mainstream products are depressed. Want a used American Deluxe Strat? There are probably 3 sellers out there for every buyer, so prices are low. So, unique can be good IF there's a market for the product.
BUT, there are often fewer buyers for unique or unusual products. While there are more sellers than buyers for an Am Dlx Strat, there definitely are plenty of buyers out there. So, the price may be lower than a seller might like, but they can probably sell the guitar.
Unless something is unique AND highly sought after, it is unlikely to command a premium. And, you'll have fewer buyers lining up for it at any price.
All that being said - do you like how it feels and how it plays? That's all that matters.
The days of buying guitars as investments are long gone. Production levels of new guitars are very high, so there's a glut of product on the market. Retailers are deeply discounting (MF's Fender Fridays for example) so that drives resale value lower.
Play it and keep it. If you get bored with it, go to the Gear Page and trade it for something else. But focusing on resale value is pretty much a waste of time right now.
Just my 2 cents....

I know it isnt a regular - hence my 'first' comments about colour and pots - ' and OK I may concede on he horn (still doesnt look much different to me), but just because it sold for more, and its a 'spcial run' doesnt automatically mean it'll be worth any more or be any more collectable.......................and thats something that can fluctuate accross the years anyway.............
Still for me it looks nice and Id keep it

I have to agree with Bertie regarding collectability. The DC's just aren't as sought after and they don't hold their value. Even special runs. Take a look at the "Guitars of the Week/Month" for sale on Ebay. They're not fetching big money and they were limited to 400 pieces each. This was a GC exclusive. Not a big collectible tag there. Having said that, you might find a DC fanatic who's willing to pay more for it.
I'd keep it too, but if you want more information about the value, contact Fuller's Vintage Guitar in Houston. They're a big Gibson shop and could probably help you out.

Kind of like my Epiphone LP Special SR AIMM with P90s.... there were like 50 made. I snagged one because it was cheaper than having P90s put in my SG. Collector? No.
Musical instruments appreciate like furniture. Now, in about 7 years my piano might take a jump in value since it then becomes an official antique (100 yrs old). However since it was restored that kills the antique value.
