A 10 pack of strings at my local Long and McQuade costs almost 100 bucks (about 8.00 something a pack, they throw in an 11th for free).

I dropped into Guitar Center recently and got 10 packs for 42 dollars!

Now I wish I brought much more money just for strings, hahaha.

The little mom and pop music store in my town just closed down. They didn't have a mega collection of gear in there but they had the basic misc stuff, lessons, a limited but well rounded supply of low to mid level guitars and they'd offer you coffee on your way in the door. Nice people.

Yeah, don't I wish they had my "preferred gauges" in 10-packs....

10-48s -- David Gilmour set from GHS is the only "set". Otherwise it's piece together a set. So I'm trying out the Gilmours. Wish me luck. Otherwise it's back to $9.00 a set, but they said they'd cut me a deal down to $6/set.

You don't wanna see the prices at my local music shop, the only shop for the whole south side.

My favorite ones are harder to find (they aren't in my local music shop) and they are DR Pure Blues and they sound fantastic, butthey are like twice as much $$$ as Ernie Ball Slinkies (which I use now, just for the price/convinience)

Yes, I have, and their strings are just fine. They used to be a better deal, though, when they had a lower quota for free shipping. I have their strings on my electric guitars now, but have switched to coated strings on my acoustics.

Include me in the D'Addario-10-pack-from-MF contingent.

I've been doing that $40 D'Addario 10-pack thing for about thirty years now. Hard to argue with success.

I have both kinds of guitars - Fender AND Gibson.

I want the D'A's deal, but I'm Canadian. It probably won't work out to much of a deal, haha. I'll check!
